The Pat Down

Lufthansa will take us to Hong Kong, a 10 hour flight. We are waiting for the Lufthansa flight in the Lufthansa First Class Terminal. Lufthansa has a whole terminal dedicated to first class flyers. There's the usual free food, drinks, WiFi and excellent service as well as private sleeping rooms and shower rooms. Each shower room has a shower, tub, luxurious bathrobe, slippers, tootbrush/paste and an assortment of lotions and potions. The walls and doors are teak and the faucets are....well, you get the picture. Pretty swanky.

Once you are clean and half way awake, there's the food. I didn't know exactly what the food was on the buffet table but what the heck - it's a vacation - be adventurous. It was an assortment of antipasti, tapas , smoked salmon, desserts and Der Beste Raucherlachs (?). The coffee was very good, a cross between what we usually drink and espresso.

To get from Singapore Airlines through Immigration and Customs to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal, I had to get through Security. And, I beeped. Since I beeped I was given a VERY THOROUGH pat down by a German woman who - well - let's just say that in America what she did would be considered a crime.

And let's just leave it at that.
